I was amazed how the dining room was full by 12:15pm on a Friday. Perhaps it was the great service, food, and drinks. There was a wide range of quality wines by the glass at reasonable prices. Beers on tap were of a good range, too. The meals were interesting and of good quality. I had some reservations about my fish pie, though. The pie dish was large, but the contents were a bit scant. Staff friendly and welcoming. Older style hotel that has had a makeover. Room small but neat and clean. Bed comfortable, good shower. Breakfast not available but there is a nearby option. Pub meals available during the day. Our room was over street and noisy until closing time abt 2230. Nearby road noisy as well. Big over riding appeal is proximity to major Melbn hospitals. Warm pub with table service. Sunday roast with all the trimmings was good but the beef and broccolini were cold. The sticky date pudding was nice and hot as well as delicious.
This pub is a great spot for a weekend lunch or dinner. The food is quite expensive but nice. Reasonable range of beers. Good range of seating, inside, outside and at the back.
Great local friendly pub that’s bern renovated a number of times over the years. Now charming and gorgeous inside. Go on a Sunday for a relaxed Sunday roast for lunch or dinner
Upmarket well presented pub with good food. Friday night after work drinks and food is great bookings required, even just for drinks. Food is good Sunday roast recommended. Jazz band plays on Sundays can be a bit noisy if you are next to the band
In the 1970s this was a hangout for poor students. Now it seems to be where retired academics lunch. The food is good, the wine list long and with quality wines, and the decor pleasant. I dropped by hoping for a quick lunch and was relieved to find I could get a burger and beer for under $25. Both were good and the table service excellent, with a jug of water brought to me with the menu.
