We only wanted coffees and croissants and muffins, the usual breakfast fare, and were very pleased. These people do know how to make coffee; the croissants were first rate; and the muffins were not too large [as they sometimes are]. The atmosphere was good and...the steady flow of customers signalled this was the place to be. Recommended. View all feedback.
What Karlee Powlowski doesn't like about Mavis The Grocer:
Had brunch here with friends. Lovely food but need to concentrate on the small things. Service very slow. Poor advice given on menu items. No decaf coffee. Not a choice but related to health issues. Music got louder and not to everyone's taste. No followup coffee order. Busy place but observations were same service slowness across cafe. View all feedback.
Well, what a hidden gem. When I wanted to take a coffee yesterday, I saw the food that came out of the kitchen and had to come back! had the eier benny, but to be honest, I feel like I have to. come back over the next few weeks and try the rest
4.3. here is how to do it. this is a beautiful bright eckcafé. it has a really nice feeling inside and outside. it has great seating possibilities in the free weather. it only has this comfortable friendly aura here. Mavis’ shows that quality of. service is the key. one of melbournes top cafe owners told me last week that quality of service was the most important thing of all. he's right. it's critical. with this understood I received here a joyful greeting from the server with the white shocked hairs, “...how are you, man”. other customers received, “...as are you!”, and other similar happy greetings. when I thanked my coffee to the table, I received a “...no worry, my husband”. he is fantastic and personalized large service. friendly and with all, but not intrusive or annoying. just perfect. the tables are a bit close to some. I was a part of my neighbour, but neither I nor her thought, and we had a quiet touch about it. it is a good menu here. small but thoughtful composition. a place we come back to. I only had a jaffle today. I couldn't resist. one with grumbling and drilling. a delicious snack complete with crinkle cut chips on the side. the jaffle was delicious. the baked bors decent borons. not the usual dosene charcoal. proper drilling. the cheese was also delicious. it was all well cooked and presented. I loved it. my long black was also a beauty. a very good melbourne coffee. as strong as my last was weak. with the beautiful length that my last was so missing. that's a cracking caffe. it would be on a beautiful day outside near gratitude. highly recommended. I'll be back.
That is a nice place to go. as the name already says, the caffe is located in what was earlier a eckladen in the back streets of the trendy abbotsford. customers can sit inside, outside in the sun, or at my favourite place the...partly shaded rear garden. I was here a few times and always found the personal friendly and friendly. the service is efficient and the coffee and the breakfast delicious. Although they are in the ordinary, they always create a relaxed atmosphere.
Went here to lunch last week, ordered a Buddha-shot and jerk off the specials board. Buddha's sheel was good when a little small, but the hen came out cold from a refrigerator. sent back and this time the kartoffels were undercooked and the bun. was pink next to the bone, which was a little bit of the brush. also who called it jerks, was not in the caribbean. No strokes from chili and the skin was not crispy underwhelming.
I live VERY close by Mavis the Grocer. We waited patiently while the undertook the world's slowest renovation before opening. We arrived! We had a lovely meal, the first time. Since then, I have tried MULTIPLE TIMES to frequent this conveniently located cafe, but the...staff simply IGNORE ME. Like, flat out, pretend I don't exist, and serve people either side of me, but don't even acknowledge me. Maybe you don't want solo diners? Maybe you don't like women with prams? Maybe, you're all just not very good at your job? All these seem unlikely, but there is definitely something going wrong. Something so bad that you can manage to ignore a potential customer for nearly half an hour (until I just got up and left on one occasion. So bad, that you can ignore the same customer, multiple times! Something so bad that I'll bother to go home and leave you a negative review online. I've tried to give you multiple chances to redeem yourselves, but it KEEPS ON HAPPENING! I'll get my daily takeaway coffee at the next nearest cafe (there's a $1000 pa lost sales alone! all the staff at Loosie Grinds are always attentive, friendly and polite.
