We had a dinner there on a Sunday night - who knew so many restaurants would be closed on a Sunday (or was it Monday?) Anyway, this is a happening, trendy place, patronized by lots of youngish folks. That is said by folks in their 60's. Nonetheless, we felt cool, enjoyed the meal and ambience. Also, this restaurant is great about giving back to the community - just an extra bonus to a great night out. View all feedback.
What Zarina Zālītis doesn't like about Ladro Gertrude:
Pretty disappointed. I’d planned on Lygon Street for my first amazing Italian experience in Melbourne only to be told at the local pub to avoid Lygon and head to Fitzroy. Where do I start?! Main meal had to be sent back as the pasta was...undercooked, the bomballini dessert was so dry we didn’t finish it. The bill at the end of the night told us we’d ordered an dollar bottle of Cab Sav!!!??? We did not see a wine lis... View all feedback.
I enjoyed my overall experience here and decided to give a 5-star rating despite a low lack of service. I had two glasses of D'Angelo...
You know that the name of the restaurant when it translates mane thief good you have one thing right In this restaurant the food was not so great...
I could sing the praises of the delicious pizza, the friendly service and the warm atmosphere, but hey, do you all know? But you knew you...
Booked a table for two. Free tables in the front room, the nice bright, cosy main room, but we were shown to the dingy, dark back room. It smelled of Poo. The lovely waitress squirted air freshener every few minutes but the smell pervaded. “We...have a drain problem and my manager knows about it”. So book a table and get shoved round to the back where it smells of faeces despite tables in the front remaining free until at least after we left. Can’t be hygienic can it, a dingy back room where food is served in an aura of excrement? Great pizzas but prefer mine to be washed down by a gulp of wine and not with a poo-air chaser.
We have been eating at and taking away food from Ladro for the last years. It never fails to fulfil our family's eating expectations the pizzas are always great (e.g. the Badabing with extra chilli), pasta outstanding and there is also a great...range of vego vegan options. In these times of changes have of course been made but the staff remain as always pleasant and obliging. Keep up the great work.
