The cocktails, which are two for one, are of good quality, although some options may be limited. The overall dining experience is enhanced by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Was Elias Casanova at Kuni's a mag?
We had dined here previously on our last visit to Melbourne and thought it was worth a re-run. Happily we found that the food this year was even better than last time as was the service which was much more professional. Our meal was delicious and served very quickly. We will definitely visit again next year. View all feedback.
What Deven Marquardt dislikes about Kuni's:
The cocktails were two for one and were quite good but several options weren’t available which limited the range. The bar staff were very friendly and made some good suggestions. View all feedback.

My visit here was an interesting experience. Most of the items in the menu were new and strange for me but the girl was helpful and recommended some dishes. I had some sushi and a piece of black sesame tiramisu and they were very delicious. I am glad I tried something new and exciting.
Went here for a birthday dinner, and the food was excellent. We had the set menu, everything came out quite timely, not too rushed, but certainly no waiting in between courses, and the staff were quite attentive, even when they got very busy. The serves were a little tiny, but there were enough of them to make up for it. The field mushrooms were delicious.
Ordered the Kuni Lunch Set. Sashimi was fresh, the rest of the item on the bento box was simply devine. I can come back to this restaurant again.
They did a vegetarian banquet for me on request and absolutely everything was divine would definitely recommend if you can spare the

This place has been open for decades and serves consistently good quality Japanese food. good service and friendly staff.
I think we've eaten half a dozen times here, just two months ago. it is always a very pleasant meal and we were more than satisfied with our decisions each time. I recommend the sushi plate, which is always fresh and generous. they have a good choice of weeping and beating as well as an extensive menu, even a little on the expensive side. her location is only from the theaters in the opposite so a great place for an evening meal in front of the theater. I know that we will always return here because the service is exceptional and the atmosphere of the restaurant is also good. they sit on the window and watch the world over.
Kuni is a 'quaint ' Japanese restaurant incredibly convenient for business lunch. Fantastic service and attitude. I am a serial repeat visitor.
Good variety of lunch set menu. I ordered the bento box which includes salmon sashimi, chicken karage, tempura, beef sukiyaki, miso soup, pickles and rice. While it is more expensive than most other japanese lunch places $19), the amount of food that's included makes it...worth the value.
