I’ve walked past a few times and it always seems busy so I decided to give it a try. The pineapple fried was delicious and the other pork belly dish that we had was just as good. The flavours were great and overall it was a good experience. View all feedback.
What Jen h doesn't like about Jing Jai Thai:
I have eaten here a couple of times and the staff are always pleasant and the food tasty. I went last Sunday and was horrified to see a girl in the back area with a plastic container full of cutlery on the floor. I don't see the need to put things on the floor, as it is not clean enough, especially for things that serve food. She was hastily putting the cutlery away, and I heard one drop on the floor. My score 3.25 stars. We got takeaway for dinner from here a while ago. We had Eggplant tofu hotpot swimming in gravy. Som Tom Thai didn't have any spice/heat wasn't fresh zippy. Curry with mixed veg tofu also swimming in sauce. Underwhelming...
I had been trying to visit here for some time, but the service had let me down each time before I had even sat down. I was once turned away because the staff did not understand the Covid protocols and another time I left when no one came to allocate a table, after I had waited by the counter for a while. Today was quiet and I got a good table. They brought water with the menu and I placed an order. I noticed that there is street food also on the menu. They are simple dishes at reasonable prices. I tried the rolls (I selected a fish and salad one for $3.60) and the Drunken Noodles (flat noodles with thinly sliced beef, all cooked in a sauce with many fresh spices and herbs). It was memorable and under $15.
We have eaten here previously. Prices here are very good but more of a cafe feel than a restaurant. (Casual dining) I had the entree of Ming Ping (Pork Skewers) which were average and deep fried instead of being grilled. My Pad Thai and my wife's Sweet and Sour Barramundi were tasty.
Disgusting with the services waited 1 hr for our food to come as it happened that their friends come a long their food come so quickly, I asked why it’s takes so long respond was that the chef was having a break ? But he wasn’t having a break when their friends come a long Seriously it’s pathetic !! I thought customer comes first not their friends!! Never would come again
This Thai restaurant was located very close to our accomodation at Sebel Flinders Lane. We had lunch at the restaurant and ordered takeaway for our hotel for dinner. Prices are very good with some great specials.Proximity and convenience to our hotel was the reason for visiting twice. Some of the dishes we had included vegetable soup, spring rolls, drunken noodles, chicken satay, tom yum soup and crispy pork with chinese brocolli. Meals were okay (average) but certainly nowhere near the best thai food I have ever had. I probably wouldnt return as I know there are better options around.
