The evening was a refined experience from start to finish. The 10-course menu, featuring seasonal ingredients from Australia, New Zealand, and nearby regions, was expertly crafted with precision and attention to detail. Each dish had multiple components, showcasing the skill of the chefs. Despite the upscale setting, the atmosphere was relaxed and not overly pretentious. The staff were passionate about the food and the service was impeccable. I would definitely return to Ishizuka to try their ever-changing menu again in the future.

From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. The restaurant, located in a basement, transports you to Japan as soon as you walk in. The set menu takes you on a culinary journey from seafood to wagyu beef and ends with delicious desserts. The service was exceptional, with knowledgeable staff making sure everything ran smoothly. The seating arrangement gives you a front row seat to watch the chefs at work, creating an intimate and comfortable dining experience. Overall, it was a brilliant meal from start to finish.
Hidden away in the CBD basement, this exotic place offers one of the best kaiseki fine dining experience you can ever get in Melbourne.<br/ <br/ I had been to many fine dining ranging from 1 to 3 hat and this 2hatted restaurant sure to deliver its best. From food to drink, their attention to details is to the max.<br/ <br/ I will not dare to spoil you by describing the dishes, but I can assure you that food wise, there is nothing to fault. The chef's skills are top notch. Where 80% of the time you will find that the chefs in most Japanese restaurants do not know how to use their Yanagi well, it is not the case of the chefs here, they had bring the best out of their ingredients.<br/ <br/ Fresh and masterfully crafted even for something as basic as chawanmushi to something extraordinary as fugu, not to mention the A5 wagyu and toro (which compared to the one I had in Japan fish market, isn't far off). I would definitely recommend anyone or everyone to try this place out for an amazing culinary experience.
