A couple of friends and I from work dropped in for lunch to use a 25% off Entertainment Book voucher at this Thai restaurant where we had previously dined. They had the Beef Fried Rice and the other had a Vegan Fried Rice.I had the Seafood Fried Rice and despite the picture I attached not showing this, there was quite a lot of seafood in it including Mussels, Prawns and Calamari but hidden under the rice.Whilst the fo... What Anonym dislikes about Ginger Leaf:

I went out for dinner with friends and had a great time. The menu had a good selection at decent prices and the food and beer were both good. It's best not to be late as the restaurant was very crowded. However, this is a good sign of the delicious food they serve! Despite the busy atmosphere, the service was prompt and attentive, even though we all ordered different dishes. The staff were friendly and the restrooms... View all feedback.

Previously Poppies Thai, the Ginger Leaf as it's now called is located at the south end of Bourke Street near Etihad Stadium.

Honestly this is the worst experience I've had. Do not eat here you will be disappointed food was very very bad.

We had only 60 minutes to get in an early dinner before a business function. We love Thai but now my partner is coeliac and has also been told to follow a fodmapped diet. Sometimes pretty difficult. We Let the waitress know of our requirements, and she was more than helpful and obviously knew what was required and what changes the chef had to and could make to meet our needs. No onion or garlic in dishes or sauces( fodmapped) and gluten free. The restaurant was quiet because of the early time. It was pleasant , neat and tidy. Food was fresh and vibrant but still elegant and subtle. Red curry duck was fantastic and flavours were blended perfectly. Great coconut rice and chicken stir fry dish GF FM , tasty and clean. Overall great authentic Thai in a peasant setting with good food and service.

It's best not to be late as the restaurant was very crowded. However, this is a good sign of the delicious food they serve! I would definitely go back without any hesitation. The only thing to note is that the portions are a bit smaller than expected.

Worst owner, poor service and a cockroachs EVERYWHERE, Rubbish Thai foods, Unprofessional cocktails ,Dirty place with rats and expensive. Eat at your risk!!!! This Thai restaurant was the worst place I have eaten in the WORLD. I was on a and business trip with my collegues. We thought it appeared like fine dining. Was I surprised, the service here was definitely awful, the food was cold, plus I had a hair in my salmon. I had to ask for water 4 times, the staff seemed to forget and apologized, after 4 times I was losing my patience. The tab water bottles never cleaned as I asked a honest staffs. Fortunately, they told the truth. All of the staffs in the kitchen and owners, were yelling at all time. Particularly,in front of customers as I heard while I was getting into the toilet and standing in front of bar. That was really overly aggressive and unprofessional people here. Importantly, It has been acknowledged that they haven't organized teamwork before opening. Chefs behave unprofessional and needs to go back to be trained. Some of them do not have uniforms while walking outside. OMG !!! What's more surprised!! Chefs walked pass and go out smoking , chatting , phoning while working in hours in front of owner and full of customers. We were waiting our food!! Sir Where our foods? The two smoking chefs were obviously inhygiene with uniform. YUCK !!!!!!!! This was very upsetting. We will NEVER go to this Thai restaurant again and we'll never recommend it to anyone. Very unprofessional cocktails, the coffee taste was really terrible as I found some of coffee powder in my cup. I called one staff to replace a new one. This staff said the coffee liquid was prepared before open the restaurant. How comes ??That was a reason why the taste and smell of this coffee were really suck. The staffs, were very slow in serving especially the public which caused of lacking staffs. I have tried several restaurants in Melbourne, and this restaurant was by far the WORST! EVER AND FOREVER. They pose has a healthy environment, after talking to some locals also observing tables, I was told, they were known for a dirty kitchen, and they said, the cockroaches were every place in this resturant. we would NEVER be treated this way! PLEASE STAY AWAY!

We( me and my daughter)had food, red wine, moscato and desert and our bill was less than 50 dollars. The food was very tasty and service also good.

Fill of authentic taste, this is a genuine thai restaurant. Food is full of flavour. Serve is good. In the shadow of Eithad stadium. Food service is fsst.

We needed a late dinner following our long afternoon of drinks and nibbles. The satay vegetable dish with rice and green chicken curry were delicious. The service was excellent.

This restaurant in docklands is fantastic. You have the option to customize any item on the menu to be vegan or vegetarian. Our large group tried the roti naans, red curry, spring rolls, noodles, pad thai, and fried rice, and every dish was prepared perfectly. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly, even though the restaurant was busy. Overall, a lovely dining experience.

I tried the no.18 fried rice with green curry at this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. I have already recommended it to all of my friends. I am looking forward to trying something new as well. My friend suggested I try the no.27 next time, so that's on my list for my next visit.

I tried dish number 20, a chef's special, and it's a must-have. It consists of slow-cooked chicken drumstick served with turmeric and jasmine-flavored rice topped with a delicious sweet and tangy sauce. Usually, I go for the green curry with rice, but this rice dish is definitely one of the best options on the menu!

Love this place!! $16 for a huge plate of chilli chicken, rice and egg. The stir fry has the right amount of heat, herbs and the flavour is intense. Came here for a work lunch and service is quick and reliable. Venue is large too so generally easy to get a table with a small number of people.

An enjoyable, classic Thai meal. An old school Thai restaurant that dished up honest Thai curries and stir-fries. Service was good. Portions were reasonable. Slightly more pricey than what I had wanted. Nice space for families and group bookings.
