Gertrude Street Enoteca - Melbourne

I have enjoyed spending many hours at this restaurant over the years, sipping on glasses of wine while admiring the collection of bottles available for purchase. They have a great selection of European wines, as well as some Australian and New Zealand options. The wine list is diverse and constantly changing, offering a variety of choices that you might not find elsewhere. Although there is a limited food menu available, the quality is always top-notch despite there being no kitchen on site. Unfortunately, I have not been able to visit as often recently due to the presence of my children, who once accidentally broke a bottle of wine. Thankfully, it was a cheaper bottle and not one of the more expensive options on offer.

Enoteca was recommended as a great wine bar. It turned out to be so much more.Attentive, knowledgeable staff who were happy to share their passion for this great establishment. There for drinks and a few nibbles mid-afternoon on a Sunday we left determined to become regulars.The wines and liquor hot chocolate ( artisan nachello, black walnut liquor.) were great, the smoked eel pate and roasted red peppers were delicious.

Gertrude Street Enoteca has essentially no signage outside but inside it has atmosphere and character and served a very good cup of coffee and a n affordable price.

This is a nice place but the wine and cocktails are expensive so I can't recommend it. We didn't eat anything just had a pre dinner drink.
