What Astrid Reichel doesn't like about Bali Bagus:
Thought we'd give this ago as most reviews were ok. We had been to Shalom near flagstaff, and thought this would maybe be nicer. Perhaps slightly nicer atmosphere but food was disappointing. Satay chicken was ok but other dishes chewy and cold. It's not expensive at all but you get better food elsewhere. Staff friendly though. View all feedback.
Oh my goodness, the beef ribs at this restaurant are amazing! They are seriously delicious, especially when paired with their tasty sambal sauce. I recommend getting the dish with rice, a fried egg, and a beer - it's the perfect meal to enjoy.
I visited this restaurant for lunch in search of an affordable and enjoyable meal, but was quite disappointed with my experience.
Bali Bagus is a great discovery with delicious and straightforward Indonesian cuisine.
Authentic Indonesian menu, many curries, stir fries & rice dishes to choose from. The dining area is spacious, self serve water provided & great value for money. Be warned that the food is traditional so the sambal dish is very hot but tasty. The rendang curry was delicious. You are required to order & pay at the counter first & it is cash only, which is the only negative point here. Would love to return & try some of the other dishes.
We ordered sapi penyek it came with beef, rice, salad. i thought penyek dishes will have the street's staple - tempe and tahu. but this one does not. the sambal is weak though. need to improve.tasty food but wish that food came piping hot rather than slightly warm. overall it's quite decent
