My husband and I have lived here a year and I never realized how many vegan options Lizette's has and discovered this unexpectedly. I was so surprised and delighted to see plant based jumbalaya and gumbo plus many more options for me. I tried the gumbo based on the recommendation of the waiter and it was flavorful and delicious. What E Mo doesn't like about Lizettes Cajun Bistro:
This establishment has a good concept (good intentions) but when it comes to actually delivering on the experience as a whole, it falls short. I paid $22 for a gumbo and Caesar side salad. The bowl they use for to-go was not only enough for 10oz, but did not have the crab meat they clam it comes with. The side salad was $8 for the same size salad from Pollo Tropical which is $4. It is my review and opinion that this... View all feedback.
Went here for lunch in the middle of this past week. There was only one other group besides us. The service was very attentive and provided great customer service. The menu has many Cajun items available, which made me happy to see. Some say they are Cajun, and really are not. But this is the real deal. After difficult decision was made of what to order I went with the Jambalaya, the others ordered red beans and rice and Vegan Jambalaya. All very tasty with their own distinct taste and spices. I was pleased with the amount of meat and seafood in the jambalaya as some can get stingy, but not here. The red beans and rice were very tasty and took me back to the days living in LA. I also had a taste of the vegan jambalaya, and this was also tasty with a good combination of vegetables in it. They also include a list of vegan options on their menu.Oh, I almost forgot, we started off with the fried green tomatoes. Very pleased with this dish also, it included shrimp on top of the tomatoes and remoulade sauce had a great taste and added to it!If you want some authentic cajun food, this is the place in Melbourne. Kudos to the cook the day we were there and to the server also.
Fun!!! A cute family owned restaurant with delicious
Good food and the live music by singer Ashley created great atmosphere for the night!
I also had a house salad which was a bed of field greens served with chopped tomatoes, onions and cucumber and a freshly made orange vinaigrette which was so tasty. I regret we got there a little early and were finishing up just as a musician was setting up for some live music. We will be back though!
Very friendly, excellent food and sweet tea. Highly recommend. We shared gumbo and jambalaya.
