Wir wurden vom Chef selber bedient, der das mit Charme und Witz machte. Das Pilz Gericht schmeckte vorzüglich und war eine gelungne Kombination mit den Knödeln. Mit Getränken und Dessert zu zweit für knapp CHF 100.00 ist okay. Genügend Parkplätze vorhanden.

We had a choice of eating inside or outs... read more We were taken hear for lunch on the way from Sursee to Munchaltorn arriving at the Pfannenstiel just in time for lunch. We had a choice of eating inside or outside as the temperature was high enough for the Swiss to sit outside but not for the Australians!! It was a very pleasant place to eat and a good choices on the menu. I chose something traditional Oberländer Bauernbratwurst mit Zwiebelsauce, Rösti CHF 21.50 about A30.00. Expensive by Australia standards but then Switzerland is expensive. Good quality and we enjoyed our choices. It helped make up for the fact that we were about to say goodbye.

T... read more Met a dear friend for dinner who made the reservation. I arrive a few minutes early and I was taken to a table next to a large crowd with also small children. The noise level would not have permitted my friend and I to have a normal conversation. I couldn't comprehend why a table of two would be placed next to a large group. Thankfully I was moved to another part in the area with long tables (not as fancy). I asked the waitress for a recommendation and she suggested the Schnitzel. It looks very large but it is battered to a very thin piece of meet. Sadly, the batter is tasteless and so the meal unmemorable. The mixed salad is always a good choice. I have eaten three times in a row there and I am continuing to be disappointed about the lack of flavor. I really wonder if the chef and owner have been tasting their food and if so, do they have any taste buds. I am not trying to be rude. The waitress was very attentive and kind to allow my friend and I to catch up until closing.

The terasse... read more The staff is very friendly, the service is not long, but the food is worse than some bad canteen food: very very oily, lack of taste but still fat. The terasse is nice but the invasion of many many flies makes it a real challenge to eat out there. My advice to the management is to 'invest ' in flies traps it should be possible to eat in the countryside without a flies invasion. We were not the only guests 'fighting ' the flies. While the service is fine, the food is so bad, it felt I wasted my time/money. I will not go back.
