What User doesn't like about Restaurant Zur Munz:
We ate here with kids and ordered dishes with two types of fish and jaegersteak. We waited only around minutes for the meal to be served. The service by a young lady was nice. No menu in English, but we translated some words in...the menu by google. The meal can be rated out of The value for money is poor since we had much better meal for the money, but arguably the great location had to be paid by premium prices View all feedback.
31 October 2021, my wife and I had a wonderful day, visited these mysterious, educational medieval and romantic town of meersburg. we had just finished the tour through the burg meersburg and the zeppelin museum. on the way we heard a musician playing German music. this city is full of amazing history. yesterday and today we had great meals in the loewen, the baeren and the viktoria. However, we were very disappointed at the simplest carvings and pommes we had to lunch today in the restaurant to the munz. both server were amazing, helpful and very pleasant. the beer, cola, weinschorle was served with a smile and were what we would expect. delicious and very cold. but the carving was very dry, tasted like French pommes. the pommes were a mixture of freshly boiled, old frits. both were neither appreciated nor eaten. we didn't make a scene. the male server knew we were not happy, but I give him credit to do what he could. we paid the bill and left. I know this is a tourist place, but my wife and I have been living in Germany for many years. any cook that is worth its weight should be able to cook a carving, the same applies to pommes. we didn't let this ruin our vacation. we just moved to the next restaurant. we hope this is not a tourist trap. it would give this wonderful city a bad name.
We wanted to eat with a look at the lake. this was a great prospect with really good eating at a good price.
We ate here with children and ordered dresses with two species of fish and jaegersteak. we waited for about 20 minutes for the meal. the service of a young lady was nice. no menu in English, but we translated some words into. the menu by google. the grinding time can be evaluated 3 out of 5. the price-performance ratio is bad, as we had much better meal for the money, but probably the big location had to be paid by premium prices.
After visiting the burg meersburg we have some time to have a quick lunch before we catch our boat to return to Constance. at our arrival I noticed a series of restaurants on the sea promenade, and as they looked promising, we decided to try one of them. restaurant zum munz was usually a random selection, but somehow it looked more attractive to us than the others. because I wasn't ready for a main course, I decided to have a suppe and dessert. the dessert was a simple choice as I identified the “Black Forester” as a black forest cake. but the suppe was harder. my German limited to some often used words, but the suppening on the menu that I could translate did not fire my appetit. only remained the “fladlesuppet”. fladle soup? the waiter spoke of crawling bones. perfect, I thought. I like crawling soup, so I ordered it. what I did was not expecting. it was a very tasty art suppe with some thin noodles like royales. Anyway, it wasn't a bad choice. my partner had a sweetwater fish called zander. probably right from the ground lake. as he said, it was delicious. we had a fast, attentive service in a very kind restaurant. the bill with drinks was €29.30, which considered the position was not high.

It wasn't something you dream about but for a place we picked at random it was a good meal and I'd go back if we visited Meersburg again.
