Knew all about this place way back in the 1970’s……. Never seemed to get it together to visit Popped in today near to their closing, not hurried, two pies, two mash and properly good thick gravy…….. not being a liquor fan myself. Washed down with a mug of coffee Great pies, great mash, great gravy…… great history View all feedback.
What barrydavis2016 doesn't like about Eel Pie House:
Made the mistake last weekend of taking my dad for pie and mash at Kelly's along Bethnal Green Road and it was undoubtedly the worst pie and mash we gave ever had, avoid like the plague. We then took my dad for pie and mash here and it was like chalk and cheese with this being probably the best pie and mash we have had in a very long time so would highly recommend this to anyone. I wanted to go to nathans playag, but now, unfortunately, away. do not look further than here for fab pier and maische. the new game ritual.
I used to live in forest gate, so I might have developed a taste especially for this place. I've tried pie and mash at many houses in the east end, but that's always the one I'm returning to, and collect 3 dozen frozen to take away when I'm over. it's not as cheap as it used to be, but it's still worth every penny. I also like to bring people who have never tried, and everyone has always been serving for a second portion. Don't say anything!
The best pie mash shop in London. Proper mince and gravy in pies... chilli vinegar too! Plus you can have a cuppa tea! Mouth watering fare!!
