Decided to go to this restaurant for my husbands birthday. When I rang and booked I was not told it was a Pizza and Pasta night which are the two things my husband is not that keen on but we were there and it is a nice setting so we stayed. Ordered lamb ravioli with a tomato based sauce. I can cook so it was nice to be cooked for. I was shocked what the restaurant produced. Obviously the pasta is from a pasta shop but the tomato sauce had no flavour and was like canned tomato’s just blended with no flavour. These people are not chefs. This is the second time we have tried this restaurant and was disappointed the first but thought I would give it another try. The first time we ordered medium rare steak and it came out well done so they took it back and the second attempt for a medium rare steak was medium so did not want to send it back again. The only Good thing is the staff are smiley and happy they just need a good chef. Sadly we won’t be back.

So we attended the greenhouse and asked the staff what they could do but were disappointed to find out they couldn’t do anything but the 3 items on the breakfast menu. I understand that there are product shortages but when their 3 items included the above ingredients it all just seemed too hard. I have heard fantastic things about them and have relatives who go regularly but for those with intolerances I unfortunately couldn’t recommend them as accommodating.
Had a meal with friends and family. The food was pleasant and reasonable. No ambience at all. I felt like I was having a meal in a boardroom. In fact the neighbourhood committee were having their meeting right next to our table. I found it not to be child friendly. We kept getting lots of tuts and dirty looks our way because our children were running in and out back and forth from the play area which was obviously annoying them. Considering we were spending a lot of money on 4 adult meals and 5 children’s meals this was particularly unpleasant. My son had a birthday cake but we were made uncomfortable about singing him happy birthday also. The staff were nice but obviously didn’t have any say so over a formal meeting being held next to our family meal which we found to be an inappropriate use of the space. Anyhow although it is convenient we won’t be returning as they have since removed the play area which to me says no families welcome.
We needed a place local to Tomago to conduct an interview over lunch, and this was an ideal spot. The very helpful staff put us in a quiet spot and left us to the interview after lunch. The menu is not large and has mainly pub style meals, but we all enjoyed our meals. The 3 of us had sirloin steak, a pulled pork burger, and one fussy member of our party wanted to do half and half of 2 salad dishes and the staff were able to oblige. The restaurant overlooks the golf course and it was beautiful on a lovely sunny winter's day.
Excellent meal, reasonably priced and substantial portion sizes. Staff were attentive, easy access for elderly.
