I was really impressed with this place. The wine was fantastic. Highly recommend “A mother-in-law who takes your page”. It is a beautiful Chardonnay dry, but not above the top. The perfect after the work drink. My friends and I ordered the antipasto board and a high meat board. They both have a delicious selection of Italian meat, cheese, etc. loved the dried figs and Marcona almonds! There are many places to sit and... View all feedback.
What Chris Raber doesn't like about High Low Winery Bistro:
They sprayed ant killer or weed killer while eating and drinking , the fumes and spray went on the tables and was breathed in, cleaning tables around us and sprayed the cleaner directly on the tables mist sprayed on our food and drinks, the crab cake fo $20 was small and barly any crab, DO NOT GO HERE, WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AND THE BOARD OF HEALTH NEEDS TO BE NOTIFIED View all feedback.
Our celebration at High Low Winery Bistro for a special occasion was truly enhanced by the outstanding service! They set up a lovely table for us and the customer service was exceptional, thanks to Matt and his welcoming staff!
We started with the bacon-wrapped dates, priced at $10.50 for six small pieces. They were made with subpar, crumbly microwave bacon that seemed freezer burnt and had an unpleasant, stale taste. Moving on to the entrees, if you order anything with grilled chicken, be prepared for frozen, possibly lower-quality chicken, which might even be something like Tyson's rectangle strips (I've attached a photo for reference). I should have documented more of the meal. When we inquired about house-made items, it appeared the only thing made fresh was the red sauce, which was excellent and certainly a highlight of the meal. However, it raises questions as to why the restaurant seems to be using such low-quality pre-made ingredients and charging a premium for them. If they offered lower prices, it might be forgivable, but at the current price point, one would expect better quality. Both of our dishes arrived cold; mine was just barely warm enough to eat, but my friend's was ice cold. Honestly, I suspect they might have forgotten to cook the tortellini before plating, as it was so cold that I handed a piece to a staff member to illustrate my point. After a few minutes, it was returned to us piping hot from the microwave. Nearby, another table ordered a cheese board that consisted of Ritz crackers and cubed cheese from Kroger, which was disappointing. As for the restroom, I won't comment on both, but the first one was far from clean. The floors were dusty, the side of the toilet was unpleasant, and the sink seemed to be detaching from the wall. A little attention, such as a $3 tube of silicone, a good mop, and some bleach, could make a huge difference. Additionally, there were a lot of gnats buzzing around, not to mention the unappetizing sight of bugs feasting on leftovers. Most of these problems seem to stem from management and ownership. They really need to reassess what they're charging for the quality of food and service they're providing.
While we were eating and drinking, they sprayed an insecticide or herbicide, releasing fumes that settled on the tables and were inhaled. They also used a cleaner on the tables nearby, and the mist ended up on our food and drinks. Additionally, the crab cake, priced at $20, was small and contained very little crab meat. I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant; we will never return, and I believe the health department should be informed.
Service was great, very knowledgeable in offering wines we tend to like. So much so we bought 4 bottles after our tasting. Very cute setting.
Pizza and the bacon wrapped figs were fabulous. Server was quick and friendly.
