Chicken Fried rice was exceptional! We ordered the dinner for 2 combo and had plenty to take back to our motel. Love this place!!!
We pulled up out front and weren't going to go in...first impression is a little hole in the wall (literally just a door!). We went for it because of the existing online reviews. The ambiance isn't great, but the reception is. We were greeted warmly and welcomed in. We ordered and our food was on the table piping hot in about 10-15 minutes. The egg rolls were amazing! We had some pork fried noodles, shrimp and veggies and pan fried beef. Everything was great, and the veggies were so fresh! My hubby found some of the sauce a little on the salty side, but I think that's to be expected to some extent with this type of food. I really wanted to try one of the noodle soups, and I will be back for sure!
Went here to try something different downtown, it was very quiet, we ordered War Won ton at $8.25 and an egg roll at $1.25 Boy was it good! The soup was Delicious, lots of noodles ( homemade and LARGE) some sliced meat ( not BBQ pork unfortunately) and some greens. Nice broth. The egg rolls were fantastic, home made LARGE and also delicious. Very nice elderly gentleman working 10 hours a day, give it a try, you will be astonished! There are daily specials to watch for and the breakfast looked great for $4.99 very small place with old fashioned atmosphere (like Pink Lantern used to be)
This restaurant is very quiet an assuming, but don't let that deter you from giving it a try! Yes, it is very small. Yes, the decor is dated. Yes, there's not a lot of "ambience." But don't let that stop you from trying out Li's food!Li's menu has the standard Chinese selections, but what you'll probably notice first is that everything is very affordable! You would think that means small portions, but not here. I ordered egg rolls and wonton soup, and I was very happy with the portion sizes! For $6, there were loads of wontons in the soup, and the soup had a deep chicken flavour. Just what I wanted on a cool winter day. The egg rolls were really good too. A bit more batter than I'm used to for egg rolls, but the taste was great! Of course it's served with plum sauce, but the stuffing was really good too. Looks like it's stuffed with a bit of cabbage, mostly vermicelli noodles, and some chicken and seasonings. There's something very nostalgic about going to a small Chinese restaurant that's owned and operated by a single, friendly, and hard-working local man. I would definitely recommend this place and come back to try out more of the menu!
Yesterday I went to this restaurant and ordered food Take-Out. I got home and went to eat. I had ordered the Won Ton soup and unfortunately it was so peppery I couldn't eat it and I ended up flushing it down the toilet. Interestingly, although the soup was so peppery- the broth was bland. I was quite happy with the Egg Roll- it was very tasty. I also ordered the #C which had the Chicken Fried Rice, Pineapple Chicken with Vegetables and BBQ Pork. Again, the Pineapple Chicken was very peppery. There was definitely no BBQ to the Pork and it was salty- it appeared like bare slices of Pork. The Chicken Fried Rice was good though- I would order that again. I still have the majority of the dinner left because I didn't want to waste it, but I'm thinking I might have to. I had come here to this site before going to this restaurant and I guess I had quite high expectations after reading the reviews here. I wish I could give the praise that most of the reviews have, but in my case- I cannot. A couple other positives though are that the gentleman who served me and cooked the food was very pleasant, and the food was done quickly.
