What User doesn't like about Portal Brewing:
Not alot of options for beer. Most are Malty types. Nice enough people but need more pale ale options for my taste. Also, very small if 20 people were in there, would be very busy. View all feedback.
Bomb food and great service, the hot pretzel is a must! Also amazing prices
A group of friends and I recently dined at this restaurant and we all loved our meals. The Wipeout with Pumfu was a nice, spicy dish that I enjoyed on a bed of spinach instead of pita, which was delicious. One of my friends ordered the Thai Roasted Veggie Pita and was very pleased with it. Another friend got the Pretzel and Falafel Waffle as an appetizer and we all found it to be tasty. I can't wait to return and try more items from the menu!
We were originally planning a quick roadside lunch during a long drive from Portland to San Francisco and ended up spending 2 splendid hours here instead. Michael his wife own and run the place, and both are vegan. The inside space is cozy and quirky. We had our dogs in tow, so we sat outside and Michael set up a heat lamp and water bowl for us. Friendly right from the get-go ! The food was unique and delicious. We had the schwarma with pakora (out favorite), artifish (artichoke-fish) tacos, and the pretzel (complimented with a wide array of mustards). Since we were driving, we did not sample any of their beer, but we understand that it’s all locally brewed by Michael’s parents. Can’t wait to stop by again on our drive back to Portland !
First and foremost, do not let the old menu online deceive you or deter you - this place is now fully vegan. Although the current menu at the location may say "plant based," the owner assured me that everything is indeed vegan. This is a rare and wonderful find here in Southern Oregon. We are visiting family in the area and while there are some vegan options available, many close early or are located in Ashland (which is a bit further away). The staff here are incredibly friendly - not only to us, but to each other and to regular customers as well. The atmosphere is very pleasant. In addition, their selection of beers is fantastic (we tried about 6 of them, no judgment please) and their dog is absolutely adorable. There is outdoor seating for nice weather and a few tables inside. Customers were coming in to pick up takeout orders and have growlers filled. We ordered the faux fish tacos and the pretzel, both of which were delicious.
This restaurant is incredible and deserves more than five stars. They offer a delicious menu that is entirely plant-based and have some truly amazing beer options. Whether you're in town or just passing by, it's definitely worth stopping by. I wish I had room for more of their fantastic food because it's just that good. The staff are incredibly friendly and will go above and beyond to ensure your meal is perfect. You can't go wrong with dining here.
