Located in a village of Meckel not far from American military base and close to the boarder with Luxemburg this lovely place features some tasty truely German cooking. The restaurant is clean, spacious and nicely appointed . During the warmer seasons there is outdoor seating available. The food is good. We recommend the schnitzels of course but ask for specials of the day because the menu varies. Good selection of local beer and wines. Gasthaus Herrig is an establishment with tradition in existence for 140 years.It is also a place to stay in and enjoy this beautiful German countryside.

This is where the boss cooks. Local products and dishes of the Eifel are freshly prepared and modernly interpreted. The service is super friendly. Large events on specific culinary topics are often offered. In summer very nice outdoor terrace with garden.
