My twin sister came to visit me from Pennsylvania, and I took her to Sandgate's for crabs yesterday, November 19, 2021. I was really hoping she would appreciate this place as much as I do, and I'm happy to say she loved every aspect of it. I've never had a disappointing meal here. What Steve D doesn't like about Sandgates Inn:
I had crabs, crab cakes, and sides today, and I was quite disappointed. The crabs, priced at $70 per dozen, were very small and overcooked, resulting in a mushy texture. As for the crab cakes, which cost $25, they were not what I expected—they tasted more like crab omelets, with flavors of crab meat and scrambled eggs. Food was great, service was not so good, waitress forgot about us several times, had to get different waitress to missed items
They sat immediately after a terrible experience with Seabreeze Restaurant, food was fast and very good. Service was great. This is the first time that the blue crab, it seems a little salty, but we are on the east coast. Lol
Great crabs as usual, view was spectacular during rainstorm
Been coming here for years to eat crabs. Usually come by boat with friends which is nice. The Crabs are always hot n tasty n fairly priced. If you like creamy coleslaw, this is the place to have it. Friendly service. A nice place to kick back while enjoying a simple meal in SO MD.
Food was delicious and experience was excellent. I would definitely return. The blue crab was good and fun to eat. The fish was utterly devine
