This unique dining experience is definitely one you won't want to miss. The food is cooked right before your eyes on a hibachi grill, adding an entertaining element to your meal. What David H doesn't like about Tokyo Diner:
Tokyo Diner has been around for quite a while, and it’s apparent. The air felt stale, and the decor was outdated. Additionally, some of the seat cushions were in urgent need of repair. View all feedback.
If there was an option for "Just OK," that would be my rating for this restaurant. I came here for sushi, not hibachi, and maybe that’s the better choice. Even though it was only 45 minutes until closing, we felt rushed to place our orders and leave. The shumai was barely edible, and while the sushi was acceptable—certainly not the worst I've ever had—it definitely wasn't the best either. Overall, it was just OK.
This is where I had my first hibachi experience. Although it was the only hibachi grill I've visited so far, I really enjoyed the outing. There is ample seating available for larger groups, and the chefs were quite skilled at their craft. While there wasn't much in the way of flashy knife tricks like you see in movies, it was still an enjoyable experience. I ordered sushi, so my meal wasn't cooked on the grill in front of me, but it was fascinating to watch my friend's food being prepared. The sushi prices were reasonable, and everything tasted fresh. Overall, I would give it a thumbs up. However, since this was my first hibachi experience, I don't have anything to compare it to.

Closed. Fifteen years ago, this was my favorite spot for sushi. Things have changed—goodbye, my friend.
