Sakura Japanese - Mechanicsburg

My husband was craving ramen and there seems to be few places to get it in the area. I got a milk tea with boba to drink and he got Ramune. I forgot to ask for popping boba instead of the regular tapioca pearls, but I was surprised that I actually loved theirs. The strawberry milk tea was so good. They serve drinks via a robot, which was so cool. Great atmosphere inside. We got a sushi roll to share, plus the ramen bowls came with a sushi roll too. They also came with miso soup. The miso soup was a great surprise and super tasty, probably the best I've had in the area. The sushi was phenomenal and fresh. That was our favorite part of the meal! Funny enough, didn't love the ramen. My husband got a soy based broth ramen and I got the pork broth that our server recommended. The soy was definitely better than the pork broth the pork had an off putting smell to it that made it hard to eat. The flavor wasn't bad, but I couldn't get past the smell. We would definitely come back for the sushi and boba drinks!! We'd also like to try the udon soups next time, as those looked good.

Ordered sushi for takeout via phone. Right on time and delicious. Their seafood sauce is a solid yum yum sauce. Only minor issue is they put spicy mayo on top of the carlisle roll and there is nothing else spicy in the description, so for someone who doesn't like any level of spice, that was slightly disappointing. But they did follow instructions to not put the wasabi honey on the yummy roll. Side of chicken fried rice was huge and worth the $6. Very flavorful. Overall, will definitely be back!

Recently discovered this place been here 3 or 4 times so far it's been awesome each visit. Have mostly ordered the hibachi dishes good portion sizes great flavor! Nice plating on the Sushi on one of my visits as well. I also enjoy the robotic server which brings drinks apps (maybe AI isn't ready to bring the entrees just yet?; how cool is this?! Service has been great each time I like the ambiance ...a little dark but nicely appointed. Sakura is fast becoming one of my favorite Japanese restaurants highly recommended!

It should be illegal for sushi to be this good... I'm ok without knowing how many calories are in these but one get one yummy roll!!!!!

When I first started dining here, sushi was excellenr, excellent presentation. tonight was not that great, waiter did not record order correctly, even after I asked him to use the electronic mobile aka apple ipad. i asked for spicy tuna handrolls, ride paper made into an ice cone shape with spicy tuna. that took another 15 minutes. wasn't that busy for a saturday night. the menu had numbers on it. the server said the sushi chefs don't know the numbers. when then sushi boar was served, the boat itself smelled very soapy as it was washed but had a soapy residue that took away from the aroma of the sushi. the sushi didn't smell right, smelled very fishy as with quality sushi, no fishy smell. took another 10 minutes to get a side plate, soy sauce and a small plate to mix soy/wasabi. overall compared to other sushi places, sakura needs some improvement
