The Tacos Taqueria - Mecca

Simple, straightforward, excellent Mexican food menu. Friendly quick service, food tasted great. Great. Kids had quesadillas, I had a wet burrito that was one of the best ones I've ever had. Good drinks. Clean environment.

Avoid as much as possible. Unfortunately there aren?t many restaurants in the small town. I have been there more than once and previous visits show me that the staff and owner (who have been all women) favor their male clients. They will go above and beyond but it was not an issue before today. I went at 12:10 and ordered a soup that was supposedly already made. Before me there were two groups of men that order a total of 15 tacos. By 12:18 they had their tacos. So I sit waiting for my order. At 12:38 the cashier sees me goes over to the window and looks at the pile of the already made orders and pulls one out from under several orders. She tells the cook that the soup order was never given to her. So they said they would start it. 12:45 still nothing so I go up to the counter and the cook sees me and tell me just needs to fully cook my tortillas and she would be done. Then proceeds to blame the two groups as being so large she had not gotten to mine. I reminded her that I saw how fast those order were completed, how I saw they had misplaced my order and she there were no need for her to Lie about it. She proceeds to try to say this was not true. And I advised her I didn?t want to hear any more and just needed my money back as I had 15 minutes left of my lunch and I had to get back. Tried to talk me out of it and advised her I had to more time. She in turned told the cashier to return my money and the told someone in the kitchen if they wanted bean tacos as she was not going to throw what would have been my tortillas away. When I asked to speak to the in charge was told it was her, then asked for owner and she turned around and told me it was her. Would not recommend this place and will not return

This restaurant is a great, comfortable spot with a wide variety of options. They have the best hot sauce in the area, but it's pretty spicy so be warned. If you're thinking of getting basic tacos, I suggest trying the "Tacos Hecha a Mano" for a larger portion size and better quality. It costs a bit more, but you definitely get your money's worth. For something a little more special, go for the tacos in the "Especialidades" section, which are burrito-sized and unique. My favorite is the Tacos Arabe, with roasted pork, grilled onions, avocado, and a special hot sauce. If you enjoy BBQ flavors, you'll love these tacos - they're like spicy BBQ tacos. Overall, the food here is really delicious. Don't forget to try the wet burrito, it's also amazing.

I visited a fantastic taco spot in Mecca, California. I ordered the "nopal tacos" featured in the picture, and they were excellent.

Do not waste your time here, the service is slow. I have never been compelled to leave a Google review before, but this place is terrible. We ordered 2 tortas and it took over 30 minutes for them to prepare, even though there was only 1 other customer in the restaurant. There were only 3 people in the kitchen and a total of 3 customers, yet it still took that long. The food was mediocre at best.
