Shogun Hibachi Sushi - McKinney

The wait for a table was quite lengthy, which seems to be standard for hibachi restaurants. While the chef didn’t bring as much fun or entertainment as others I’ve experienced, the sushi rolls were enjoyable. Unfortunately, our waitress was absent for a while, and we weren't able to get drink refills until the check arrived.

Mediocre experience. The food was very bland; the onion soup tasted like lukewarm water with just two paper-thin slices of mushroom and perhaps a quarter teaspoon of chives. The steak was tender but also lacked flavor. The salad was made up of large pieces of lettuce that splattered everywhere. I had to ask three times to get my steamed rice. The total cost for two people, including tip, was just under $100. Given the price and the lack of flavor, I won't be returning.

The owner is incredibly kind, and the staff is amazing! The prices for the food are very reasonable considering the generous portions. The chefs are excellent! This is definitely the best place for hibachi and sushi.

When I first walked in I wasn't greeted and when someone finally did come over. They approached someone else first before me, the group did let them know I was here first, then she told me to stay by the bar by time someone else approach me which was like another 10 minutes. This person also approach someone else first and I was there first, I had to tell her I was here first for her to even let me talk. I gave her the name for the order and still had to wait 20 minutes for the food to come. N this was a doordash order of 3 items. I strongly didn't feel welcomed in this establishment to be honest. Not sure if this was because I doordashed, they were busy or didn't sit down and eat; but I feel like my experience could've been better. The food did smell quite lovely tho.

Good atmosphere, great food, great service. We just had a boring cooker.
