I was in town visiting for the day and went in to grab a coffee. I was surprised it was a full-service restaurant but I ordered coffee, loaded hash browns, and biscuits gravy for $9. It was all very good and a great value with friendly service. A small town treasure for sure. View all feedback.
What Jerry Merritt doesn't like about Coffee Shop Cafe:
This used to be quality food but in the last one year the chicken fried steaks now cheaper grade meats tough and stringy... Cornbread now so sweet it's like cake... The Rolls were very fresh tasty now they're rolls are cheap and tasteless... I think they're old head cook retired or left whoever took over made changes... Who was not the same experienced cook... Great place to eat! We stopped in Monday and I enjoyed one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
Mothers Day was so busy. 30 min wait My friend got the chicken fried steak, it was homemade, mashed potatoes homemade, said Okra was really good. I had sausage omelet, crispy hashbrowns and it was great. And we even got free dessert and each of us got a beautiful red rose! Best of all was our server Lindsey!
As always, food was delicious and the service was great. We always enjoy stopping by and having dinner.Enjoyed today's visit, server was really nice
Great food and experience, came from Waco on recommendation, well worth the drive. Also Pie! I had a hamburger and although I had asked for a chopped steak it was truly a great burger, well cooked (real meat not a preformed patty with a bunch of veggies (that I rarely eat but were crispy and the fries were fresh and hot ! I have been to only burger places that fell flat.Ok, I had to add this : the pieces of pie were the best, in fact the chocolate pecan pie was the best pecan pie I have ever tasted , not soggy that is usual , I had key lime and it was delicious no old taste. I wish they had the strawberry/rhubarb (lots of others though but the key lime was excellent. I will visit again when Im in Waco and get the rhubarb!!
If you want to try authentic American homemade food, this is the place to go. It's still unforgettable fresh meat and cornbread.
