Reviews - Mountain Java
Reviews summary
Perched on MCCALL’s waterfront, this tiny, charming coffee shop blends lakeside views with friendly, attentive baristas and a menu of excellent coffees, pastries and local artisan bites. Indoor seating is limited but pleasant; outdoor Adirondack chairs offer scenic relaxation. Popular for customizable drinks, a strong coffee program (and clubs for coffee and wine), it’s consistent, welcoming and perfect for casual chats, solo mornings, or quick takeout—though expect occasional lines, a cramped bathroom, and the need for better ventilation.

The tea here is fantastic! I highly recommend the raspberry rose hibiscus with a touch of honey; I enjoyed it so much that I ended up buying a tin to take home. The staff is knowledgeable and delightful as well. They offer a selection of wines, including non-alcoholic options. It’s such a charming little place! View all feedback.
What Penn bloxsom dislikes about Mountain Java:
A second way shop with cute finishing and an awkward bathroom. The coffee was not the best but not the worst you’ll ever have and that’s the best thing I can say about this coffee shop. View all feedback.

I absolutely loved their chai and caramel macchiato! Here’s my breakdown: Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 4. I highly recommend trying them out!
- Service: 5/5 - Food: 5/5 - Atmosphere: 5/5 For meal type, I opted for takeout, and the price per person was around $10–20. Don’t miss out on trying the 20oz Gazelle's Tooth!
This place serves fantastic tea! I highly recommend trying the raspberry rose hibiscus with a touch of honey—I loved it so much that I ended up purchasing a tin to take home. The staff members are both knowledgeable and charming, adding to the overall experience. They also offer a selection of wines, including non-alcoholic options! The atmosphere is delightful. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and ambiance all with a perfect 5 out of 5.

I absolutely love Mountain Java! The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. There are a few seats indoors, but plenty of outdoor seating with beautiful views of the lake. They offer delicious food options from local artisans, along with a great coffee menu. I enjoyed my morning 16 oz quad americano there for a week, and I already miss it! Our connection is on hold until I can return to lovely McCall.

Our group dined together and tried a variety of dishes. Everything we had was absolutely wonderful!
We had a nice delicious cold flavored coffee with a Double Chocolate and Cherries biscotti, the staff with nice and helpful and we enjoyed talking to a stranger. One thing I felt that the place needed some aeration when l first come in.
Sarah is by far the BEST barista in McCall hands down! Having a dairy allergy I am always so nervous to get a coffee, she puts my mind at ease and always makes delicious drinks! You will never be disappointed when she is behind the counter! She is sunshine in human form, sweetest and kindest person. Bonus plus she always plays good music! Definitely my number one coffee shop in town because of her!

Great Place to enjoy a warming, delicious Cafe Latte or pick up a favorite bottle of wine from the Back Room Wine Bar!
Wonderful, charming coffee shop with the most friendly staff you could hope to meet! I had a wonderful chat with Holly about music as she recommended a wonderful adjustment to my usual cappuccino dark chocolate and coconut added. Genuinely was one of the most delicious coffee drinks I ever had. Maybe the best but it's hard to say since I drink lots of coffee. It's on the waterfront, too so the scenery adds even more to the super cozy and welcoming vibe. You owe it to yourself to grab a cup here and relax for a little while if you're ever in McCall. I cannot recommend this shop enough.
I love this place, and their backdoor wine and beer bar has the best terrace in town!
