Everything was overcooked and under seasoned. Should be removed from the Laundry's Select Club umbrella. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4 View all feedback.
The 3lb lobster was a mistake. The best part of the fish is normally the tail, but mine was barely edible and stuck firmly to the tail. The enormous claws were good, not great, and required a large tool to break into (they start the process for you). Coming from a lobstering family I can tell you lobsters over 2lbs do not taste as good and should be left to breed more lobsters, since it is the prime breeding age. The only good thing about 3lbs is bragging rights for men who brag about the size of their steaks, etc. The chicken parmigiana was mediocre. The special hot shrimp appetizer was good and very spicy. The highlights were the side dishes of mashed potatoes and asparagus and the excellent cheesecake. They make a good Manhattan, all for five star prices. Parking: Skip the paid parking and use the valet at the front door, once you find it!
Food and drinks are consistently good here. Enjoyed my steak paired with creamed spinach. The chocolate cake did it, a la mode. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
Service: The staff was great, they were attentive and did a great job elevating our experience at the restaurant. My only criticism is that they asked to take our plates before everyone was done eating with their dishes which could leave the slower eaters feeling rushed. Those looking for a more formal fine dinning experience, this is probably not the atmosphere for you. The wait staff had a fine dinning but also a down to earth attitude that I personally appreciated. Atmosphere: My first visit was pre covid, and yesterday was my 2nd visit and I was surprised by the state of the restaurant. The floors are warn and at a minimum need to be refinished, the men 's restroom is in poor shape and is in need of a full update. (Fixtures, paint, patching etc. During my visit a patron started smoking a cigar outside. The smoke was quite noticeable inside, while I personally do not care, it may offend other people. One suggestion is to increase the air pressure in the restaurant to limit the smoke intrusion. The noise level was also quite high in the restaurant, but there is really nothing to be done, but in my opinion, reasonable. However, if you like a quieter dinning experience either a private room or a different restaurant is for you. Food: Appetizers The bread was dry and flaky and borderline stale. It tasted like it had been made in the morning, and kept under a warming lamp all day, or it was left over from the day before. The lobster bisque was well seasoned, but nothing to write home about. The steakhouse wedge was ok, the dressing was nothing special. The prosciutto was decent with a good presentation. Main course Tuna Agghiotta Well cooked, highlight of the night. Pappardelle Bolognese An extremely large portion. The bolognese tastes like something I could get from a restaurant for half the cost. Buy a steak instead. Lobster Great, hard to go wrong. Chicken Parmigiana Extremely large portion, over priced, nothing remarkable. Sides: Asparagus Token green thing on the table. No issues. However, at $16 the price is just silly. Garlic Mashed Potatoes gritty grainy. At the price, I expected a higher tier level of potatoes. The garlic taste was not noticeable, but that was not my main issue with the potatoes. Timing of all the dishes were excellent, but for the price... the food left much to be desired.
