I have traveled past this Restaurant for years. I have always wanted to stop but for whatever reason would just keep going. I finally hit the brake pedal and pulled in. What a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the atmosphere along with some good BBQ. Thiswill be a regular stop going forward as far as I am concerned. Give it a try I am sure you will find it to be very tasty.
I tell ya what, this is the classic bbq joint! Rustic look, friendly people combined with good food. The aroma of the pit with the sound of chefs, cooks workin away in the back. I had the, fall off the bone ribs-literally. And the salad was my personalfavorite. Not just boring iceberg lettuce. Plus the green beans hot and seasoned perfectly. People dining inside and out...beenawhile since I was here last
This place is a good spot in Mcgregor for some good BBQ. The menu is great take on a traditional BBQ menu. Pushing the limits on what a BBQ Restaurant is known for and I give them a lot of props for serving what they do here! Takes a lot to venture outsidethe box. Onto the food....! Most of the time when I order pork I'm disappointed because I have been spoiled on real pulledpork from the Carolinas, George and Virginia. Typically pulled pork outside of these states just isn't good. Usually havingthat old, dirty, stale pig taste. For the first time in a long time I had pulled pork here that actually tasted like a freshclean pig that hasn't sat around too long and was quite enjoyable. The coleslaw was a good complement to the sandwich it didn'toverpower it and the sauce was a nice touch. You get a little sweetness from the slaw and a little sour from the pickles andsauce which paired very well with their version of pulled pork. Over all great sandwich! The white trash burrito is definitelya good stoner burrito. This thing is a sloppy good time. It is a bit of a mush burrito because the flavors run together untilyou bite into the sausages and it really breaks up the profile at that point. Then taking the next bite it's hard to tell whatyou're tasting. With that said if your hungry and need to satisfy the urge and you don't know what to order this is foryou. The chop beef is very good. Their beef is actually chopped not processed or pulled. The texture is what you would expectfrom chop beef and the flavor is on point. I think if they could catch some of those beef drippings in a bottle and squeeze abit on these sandwiches they will be hard to beat. That little extra moisture with the sliky texture from the drippings wouldknock this sandwich out of this world. The small house salad is nice because it's a leafy green salad not just iceberg lettuce. The ranch is the one we all look forward to when we go out to eat. The Cobbler was amazing! Seriously! It
Place was practically closing when me and the family pulled up and we were worried about the kitchen closing up, but they said no worries and were happy to serve us. The food, particularly the legend sandwich lives up to its name and is def a solidchoice, wolfed down a 2 meat and a legend personally and it was goooood. Def recommend dining here!
Had heard about this place years ago, and after seeing reviews was anxious to try it. But maybe getting there late (45 minutes to close) is not ideal, because I was not impressed. First the good: Friendly staff (although the high school kids at times seemed more interested in their friends that came by outside), good atmosphere with TVs to watch football, and it feels like a BBQ joint. The bad: Almost everything I ate but the sausage. Brisket was bland and dry, despite specifying moist when he asked. Mac and cheese was not terrible, but was too dry and a bit on the bland side. Potato salad may have been among the 10 worst I've had. Again, we may have just got there at an unfortunate time and got the bottom of the barrel pickens. I guess we should have known when the Cafe across the street had a full parking lot and Coach's had one car.
