Juanita's - Mazatlán

Juanita is her typical hole in the wall. in the golden zone most foreigners pass this type of location, but they should not because they always have the real local food at bargain prices. it was full of state members who always looked outpicious, something I was happy to see, although I was very hungry. a short waiting period, but the plate of huevos a la mexicana with a good part of thick fried beans, a hunk of land cheese, tortillas and a cup of coffee happy persuaded my appetit. at 50 pesos is a real bargain especially for this area. the service was good.

We stopped for lunch. The Mexican plate was ample and tasty. I was particularly impressed with the sweet corn tamales to the point that we order a couple extra to take back to our room. The prices were embarrassingly reasonable and service was friendly...and personal.

We went last night to juanitas and we both experienced an excellent meal with absolutely excellent service. They have a good menu, the place was very clean, and the staff was very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. I'm very. very pleased that they try it.

Love the food authentic Mexican cuisine and so inexpensive. We are not crazy about the noise from Sabalo, but we put up with it because of the food!

Juanita's has very good sandwiches and tortilla soup, which I love. They also have liver and onions, which are very good, but served with beans instead of mashed potatoes. You have to ask what the special of the day is and if they have any left. The food is good and the service is good.
