This restaurant is located in the Plazuela Machado. This is a wonderful place to visit on the weekend. There is entertainment, vendors and a wonderful atmosphere. We always order the Blackened Burro (sp?). It is the best steak in Mazatlan. Ernesto is a great waiter. Sit outside to get the most of the atmosphere. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Il Mosto:
We've been to Il Mosto many times over the years. The Black Burro is still an excellent meal if you can get served. Their other selections are basically terrible. The meat is tough or not cooked correctly. But, the greatest problem is getting served. Last night it took over 2 hours to be served and we had to find the waiter to order drinks. The previous time was even worse, 3 hours and the still missing a meal. View all feedback.
I tried the angel hair pasta dish. ups! They didn't have an angle hair paste, so I chose spaghetti. the dish was very dry and without taste, it came small slices of the simple bungalow cut and a kind of butter. nice piece of garlic. toast would be nice, no worries, I won't come back.
This is a good place to sit with family and friends and eat well. Il Mosto restaurant is located in the Old Mazatlan in the Plazuela Machado (square), where we were able to walk and see well-maintained buildings from another time. I and my wife...had the mani-mahi dish, and the children opted for the pizza and pasta. Everybody enjoyed their dish. and the service.
Huge chunk of steak meat, perfecto done, nice vegs too. Good service. Right on the square. Will go again.
I've thought long and hard about writing this as this is (was) one of my favourite restaurants here in Mazatlan. I decided to go ahead after talking with my family who shared the experience and we decided it was fair, honest and that people should...know. We dined here on March 29th, the night before my family was to leave Mazatlan. I all but made them because I'd had such positive experiences in past. Not this time. We shared appetisers, cheese, calamari, kids had pizza, we had steak. We went home early to do a little laundry and be prepared for their departure the next day at six. Well, not two hours later we were ALL very ill. REALLY VIOLENTLY SICK, all five of us. Very scary. Food poisoning. This went on all night and the next day. Imodium, Pepto-Bismol, we ate it all. By the time they were to depart for the airport, it was marginally better, but it was a rough flight home. Upon arrival in Canada, they all went to the Dr who confirmed that it was food poisoning and more electrolyte beverages and RX Imodium. What a total disappointment.
