Went there on a geocaching mission as they host one there. Nice casual atmosphere with tons of sports memorabillia and TV's to watch. Just missed being able to go to a Saskatchewan Roughrider tailgate party - maybe next year!!! Had an ice-cold cerveza and for sure be back again. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about FRIENDS Diner:
Went there last night for food and partying the food was ok but the service left a bad taste in my mouth had to order drinks many times before they served us. Then about 7:30 pm they ran out of ice this place was busy but had planty of people working our second time at friends and do not think we will go back. There are a lot of places in mazatlan so hope this helps save you a little time don't wast it at friends View all feedback.
The service is decent. I ordered fish tacos and forgot to make a picture. the fish was somewhat similar to a fishstock, the size of my smallest fingers, one per taco. Pay attention to one of the female Canasta players (which has five adult children, .from Canada, who always is an hurdle when it is their turn in canasta. Why in the world someone would drag to mexíco to hurry and overthrow others is beyond understanding.
Looking for a great taste of home, good that is the place to go. friendly service, good food and beautiful atmosphere.
We have been to friends diner (formerly the Saloon) a number of times. Food is good, usually have a live band in the evening and will tune into pretty much any sport you want on one of the many tv’s. They allow people to reserve...tables so plan ahead. Mostly Canadians and Americans in the Winter.
We were here for supper I should have listen to the reviews here, the fish and chips are good for two people I ordered a set of ribs for an Appy. We could not finish it... The live band played alot of 60/70 music, did...a good job Phone and make a reservation Gets real busy..
We were in Mazatlán for 2 weeks in March 2017, the food at the hotel we stayed at was what I would call 2 star but thank god we found this neat little restaurant just around the corner called Friends. This restaurant is owned by a lady (Wendy) from Alberta Canada. They have great food, salads were fantastic, hot hamburg sandwiches best around. One night our group 12 in total went to Friends and the special was home made spaghetti, wow it tasted just like you make at home. Food was so good that we ate 6 or 7 times during the second week in Mazatlán. Thanks Wendy for the great hospitality, it was so nice to have some “Canadian dishes”. (from your Canadian friends from Woodstock Ontario - Cookie says hi P.S. they have the best ever Brownie for dessert, our group probably had 7 or 8 of them while dinning there!!!
