El Velero Restaurant - Mazatlán

Our tour landed us at this little "rustic" beach restaurant - not much in the way of a menu - food was good and was included in the tour - didn't care too much for the locals trying to sell trinkets while you ate - they pushed horse and buggy rides after the meal, didn't go because the horses looked a little on the thin side - saw some locals eating there so I think it's a popular local stop - with all that said we'd definitely would return - it was kind of fun . . .

This is the place where the locals go. We have been coming here for a few years and the owner and staff are AMAZING!

Make sure you check your bill. We had a group of nine and every item had at least a 5 peso charge over the menu price resulting in a $20 over charge. We also took a banana boat ride and he arranged a six person boat for 8 people. He said it would be a longer ride, however it only lasted less than 5 minutes.

The place is amazing, we stayed here all day. They gave us beach chairs with umbrellas, the service was outstanding, ice cold beer, yummy food and margaritas. The view was incredible the water clear and warm. Thank you so much for making our day one of the best ever.
