We have called here on a number of occasions as it is a lovely place to sit outside and enjoy a few refreshments and tapas The staff are extremely friendly and the prices are very low Highly recommended
A very typical Spanish restaurant, serving fresh authentic cuisine of the area. We had passed by many times so pleased we called in for lunch. We spent 2 hours enjoying a leisurely meal, we found it very good value will visit again while in the area. Can recommend the lentil stew followed by the meat balls.
The food was excellently cooked. As a group of four we all had different starters and mains, ad all agreed that food was really well cooked. The calamaris were the best my friend had tasted for a long time, and the pork tenderloin in peer sause was so tender, and the pepper sauce so fresh, it was wonderful. The views fro the balcony to the sunset over the hills was also quite specctacular. The tapas looked inviting, so we will definately be back.
We have not been here for many years. It has clearly suffered a decline in trade since the new motorway has cut it off on a side road and, I suspect, not that many people can be bothered to divert themselves off the main road to get to it. We were travelling past with friends at around the right time for lunch, however, so thought we would give it a try. If there were a rating of Good, that is what I would probably give El Saladillo, but I wouldn't go as far as Very Good. The interior of the restaurant has always felt a bit like a canteen, because of its size, and that has not changed. The gentleman who served us could have been a little happier and friendlier, we thought, but hey, he may have been having a bad day! The food was quite reasonable, but my wife's and my Merluza, although large in size was not particularly tasty. The price was reasonable. Would we go out of our way to get here? Probably not.
