Azteca Mexican - Matthews

It's a great Mexican restaurant. The ambience inside is very impressive with beautiful artwork wall decoration. In the evening there was live music when we visited. The whole atmosphere was great for a family dinner. I love her margaritas. The fish also liked Tacos and Burrito. Good option for dinner drinks with music.

An amazing experience! Everything is made fresh, right down to the hot sauce. Portions are filling. Service was spot on perfection, from hostess to servers! Ivan anticipated our every need, and Javier made spectacular guacamole. We will definitely be returning.

The atmosphere is nice. Very colorful. There are a lot of different Mexican dishes on the menu. However the food was a little blend and way to much than one person could eat.

I usually visit Monterey in Matthews, but decided to give Azteca a try since it's nearby. First, all of the dips for the chips were horrible, the salsa tasted like pure onions, the hot salsa looked like french dressing and was just hot sauce. My sister and I decided that maybe the entree's would be great to make up for the chips n dip. My sister ordered the chicken chimichanga...the chicken tasted old and disgusting. I ordered a combo with beef taco, enchilada and a Chile Reno...never had a Reno wrapped in egg. The meat tasted old, and the food was obviously microwaved. We asked for the manager and we didn't have to pay. Food was inedible! Went a short ways away to Monterey. They are close in distance, but they're miles apart in taste and freshness!! Give Monterey a try, well worth it!!

I enjoyed a nice lunch here. Great selection!! Great specials!! Awesome location! Wonderfully authentic scenery!! Very nice customer service. Would definitely visit again if on this side of town.
