El Compadre - Mattawan

Its really good!...The first impression is a little iffy simply because they are attached/behind the carwash building- however, dont let that throw you off or cause you to drive away without stopping in. The restaurant is clean, staff is sweet and happy to see you. Though a little small, the menu is full of yummy items. they are brand new so im sure it will grow) If you enjoy a more authentic Mexican taco i.e.corn tortilla with steak, cilantro, lime and onion) this is your place! It is what I would call a cafe-joint style vs. Full sit down eating but again its very clean and is perfect for a lunch stop. Please support them and stop in! Tortas, rice, burritos, its all there! The only negative is parking and poor signage but I think being so new they are working on both.

Very good authentic mexican. If your looking for a good taco el pastor or a great burrito, this is the place. Small menu but dont let that deter you. Its a clean, small place in back of the car wash in Mattawan. The staff is really nice and we call ahead for takeout. Really dont miss out on this place.
