The Orangery At St Elphin's Park

Great environment. we were very comfortable and all were very friendly. eating was a very high standard and the waiters made us very welcome.

We really enjoyed the carvery and found the food to be excellent. However, the website had advertised it as "afternoon tea," leading us to believe we were booking it as a Mother's Day gift. Additionally, the restaurant could benefit from clearer signage from the road as you drive into Matlock. Nevertheless, we still had a great experience!

Our meals were good. my bark check was great. another diner had the Thai green curry but asked for a grilled chicken breast to be added. that looked nice. I'll try it myself, because I don't just want to kiss. the whisky ice cream was rather disappointing, with a slightly gritty texture, but the caramel was beautiful.

The restaurant was fantastic. The only issue we had was that Fork did not provide accurate information. We were looking to have high tea, but we found out that it is only served between 2:30 and 5:30 pm. I also mentioned my nut allergy to them, but they seemed to have missed it. Despite these hiccups, we will definitely return, but next time we will make sure to book directly with the restaurant.

Prawn sandwiches were delicious and really full of prawns. Coffee was lovely and thankfully nice and hot (which isn’t always the case in some places). The lady that served us was very helpful and friendly. All in all a lovely experience.
