Was Stephen Roberts at New Bath And a mag?
Staff were great. Even took me down to see the plunge pool and the spring under the hotel. I really enjoyed the continental breakfast. Swimming pool was too cold for me. Only real gripe was an apparent lack of information about local attractions. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great value View all feedback.
What Julie Wild dislikes about New Bath And:
I would like to say the rooms are lovely and clean. Cold but there is a stand alone heater which did warm the room up. The bed was so comfortable. The staff are run off their feet but great. And the spa is also nice. That unfortunately is where it ends. The evening meal; we were served with bread it was like concrete and we could not even cut it with knife. The main course was ok but £60.00 not worth it. Breakfast £1... View all feedback.
Only visited the pool. Lovely experience. Water is very clean (and cold, obviously) and it's so nice to swim in water that doesn't have chlorine. Life guards are a good laugh and very friendly and helpful, and easy going. Changing spaces and toilets were clean, and generally the place just had a nice vibe to it. Plenty of parking, not too busy. We enjoyed it very much and will be back. Tenner is not cheap for a regular swim but it makes it a treat to visit. No faff.

A lovely afternoon tea celebrating a friend's birthday. Plentiful, tasty food in elegant surroundings with attentive service. Nearby activities: Matlock Bath and neighbouring Matlock in the Peak District are lovely towns to visit, offering historic buildings, beautiful riverside walks set in a spectacular limestone gorge. Food drinks: Attractive and tasty food with a selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. The scones appeared to be served with homemade jam, clotted cream topped with freeze dried raspberries We enjoyed a coffee on arrival and a lovely pot of tea.
We was bought a spa package for our wedding present.included a Bottle of prosseco 2 hours use of spa. Room breakfast included. We had booked the spa way before our visit. On arriving at the spa was told the hot tub was currently being filled the steam room wasn't working so that just left the sauna so didn't bother. Very disappointing. The room was ok apart from ripped wallpaper it hanging off the wall. The shower was not great. Took ages to warm up when it did it was trickling out. Breakfast was ok but no cooked breakfast options .
