A great spot tucked away off the Hatfield McCoy trail system. We went on a day that power was out in town and they had a prefix menu of hot food to choose from that they had prepped in advance! I had vegetable soup and a grilled cheese while my husband had a hotdog. Best lunch by kerosene lamp I've ever had. Would 100% recommend! View all feedback.
What ICU81 2 doesn't like about Hatfield Mccoy Resort Inn, Wingo's Grill The Real Mccoy Trails:
Not sure how you forget to put a hot dog on the bun.... Ordered the all beef hot dog with the pulled pork and slaw and the hot dog was left out? That is a new one to me. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 View all feedback.

This charming little town has a peaceful atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly. The restaurant is conveniently located right next to one of the trail entrances. There's a spacious parking lot in the back that offers plenty of space for trucks and trailers.
Stayed here in town for our 3rd trip to the Hatfield McCoy Trails after finding ourselves in Matewan for food on previous trips. Ample gravel parking lot out back between the one way street leaving town and the flood wall of the Tug River/walking path. No need to unhitch the rig, since there are several places to eat in town, including the owner’s place next door (Wingo’s). Our room was on the first level and clearly had been some sort of store in the historic building, and it was rather large. The storefront window was the living room area with a sofa, coffee table, side table, and TV. The outside wall had a dining table and a full kitchen with a little stool near the coffeepot. The inside wall had two large beds each with a shelf and hanger area and there was a little kids room in the back with a twin bed next to a built up bathroom (bottom floor means the plumbing needs raised). Two small steps up probably still mostly accessible for those struggling to walk. Very warm water and great water pressure in the shower. Decorated very tastefully we loved the sign saying if you want breakfast in bed to sleep in the kitchen. Quaint patio out back for the restaurant or a place to sit. The whole area is ATV friendly and across the main road is a trail head. Walking distance to 3 restaurants, a beer store, two gift shops, and the owner’s tour business. You can also walk or ride across the bridge into KY to the Paw Paw Tree location, a gas station, and a grocery store. Walk to the Matewan Depot as well. There is a major train coming through about 3 5 times per night and it is about 25 yards away. The ladies of this establishment are very kind and answered all our questions quickly.
