Ask for fried potatoes instead, got a very annoyed look by the grouchy old lady /chef who gave me dirty looks the whole time. She also smoked and coughed while making my food. Do yourselves a favor, walk 8 min down the road and find a real restaurant with decent service.

I managed to find a little meat on the selection of lamb bones I was given and my vegetables arrived after sitting on the bar going cold after we had both finished! ... Very poor!

The restaurant was... read more A delicious experience awaits if you are willing to travel outside the tourist corridor, especially in the year 2019 when Matera is so busy. The restaurant was a pleasant, quiet oasis on the day we ate lunch. We started with a chef's choice of antipasto and not a crumb was left on the plates. The red wine choice (Cantine Del Notaro 2016 L'Atto) was delicious and reasonably priced, as was the whole meal. Specials are listed on a board outside. I had the pasta with clams and it was delicious. Massimo Rivelli and his mama are dedicated to delicious food in an upscale environment at a fair price.
