I had the 12oz prime rib-medium cooked. I probably could have used my fork to cut it. So tender. Perfectly cooked. Our waiter Alexi was exceptional. We will definitely be going back. Their menu has plenty to choose from. Also has a kids menu. View all feedback.
What Kathy Anderson doesn't like about Brass Rail Grill:
Had dinner last week. Ordered prime rib (sign says best in NJ). Ordered it medium. It was medium well. Had no flavor and was a bit tough. Very disappointing. Years ago it was so good. Definitely went down in quality. Won't go back View all feedback.
To sum up our visit: slow service, unfriendly server and overpriced dinners. The pluses is the food taste good. Seated was ok and greeting was timely. That is where things went sour. Took 25 minutes to get our appetizer and another 20 minutes to get our main dishes. This is only a slow Monday with 4 people at the bar and one other couple in a booth. Honestly, the buser assistant guy was very friendly and came to ask us how we were doing. This was in the long pauses between the waiter came to us. The waiter was so unfriendly I felt like we did something wrong. We were at this place for an hour and a half for a dinner that should have only been an hour at best. Not a good dining experience. Maybe this should just be a bar and close off the restaurant part. I think the waiter would have preferred that. Leaving a 20% tip was just short of painful.
I stopped here for lunch because of a recommendation from a co-worker. I ordered the 12 oz English Cut Cajun Styled Prime Rib, and since this is a bar, I had low expectations that this would be good. To my amazement, the prime rib was absolutely fantastic for the price I paid. I ordered it medium well, and the meat was still so tender and perfectly seasoned. Since I came in for lunch, some of the potato sides weren't available yet, so I got the potato wedges, which were pretty good. My server Alexi and the other staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and they provide both indoor and outdoor dining. They have a decent sized menu, and everything, including the prime rib, is very reasonable priced. A huge plus is that they have plenty of parking in the back. Overall, I was definitely impressed and happy with my first experience here, and I will be sure to stop in again the next time I am in the area.
Have tried this place randomly throughout the years and never found it to be any big deal. This visit was exactly the same. Inside is tired and old, and was quite warm, despite the heat outside. The food was adequate. I ordered the chicken caprese. What was handed to me was a salad. A $25 salad. Nope. Won't be back. Far too pricey for what you actually get.
Just moved to town and was a little worried that the local bar scene was gonna fall WAY short from what I was used to. It does. The town. NOT the bar! In fact, I would probably DRIVE to this town FOR this bar. It's everything you want, good food, good prices, GREAT people. Michelle is rocking it behind the bar! A place where you can get a couple of cold beers, a juicy burger, and live even local entertainment one night, and the next night go on a date and enjoy the most phenomenally cooked cut of meat made YOUR way in a secluded booth by the window? Hands down one of my top places thus far; a true diamond in the rough. As life, for me, is highly entertaining and full of surprises as is... I very much look foward to all sorts of shenanigans in the future, and I'd be proud to make this home base. To the Brass Rail: don't worry, these days the shenanigans are as PG as they come... ish. ?
The absolute BEST place to have lunch, dinner, drinks! The Prime Rib is the BEST! Ask for Constantine!
