Went diving in Mataro and dive shop steered us here. We went with a group of 8 people from Spain, and they allowed us Americans to tag along. Haha. They did all the ordering, we got calamari, mussels, pitchers of beer, and seafood paella. Everything was very tasty and authentic (I think). Sat next to the beach, couldn't beat the setting. The experience of the food, the setting, and the wonderful company will certainly stay with me.
I went to Cambados for dinner seafood was good, the place was very busy and right on the beach. Recommended!
Our daughter lives in Mataro with her husband and their baby daughter and we have been here for lunch a few times. The food is consistent and consistently nice. The fideua is good, and the fishy tapas selection is everything you would want it to be (confession we've never tried the chorizo or chicken). There is a small but effective wine list, including local Alella wines (which are great). Service is fine, and there is a lovely child friendly feel to the place. I always look forward to visiting and eating there.
Enjoyed the rustic charm and great fresh food from here. Being proper English tourists we had paella after a great mixture of seafood entree tapas and some of the best mussels I’ve eaten. My girls are vegetarian and the chef knocked up an off menu vege paella that they devoured and we washed it back with a great Rioja for under €10. Desserts coffees and a cheeky digestive and we were snoozing it off on the beach thoroughly well nourished and glowing from the great service our waiter delivered
