Smuggler Jack's - Massapequa

1. When we arrived, we opted to sit outside in an igloo despite it being February. The decor was stunning, accommodating a table for nine (though I’d recommend a maximum of eight adults, given we had children with us). The igloo does come with a fee, but it can be used as a credit toward drinks (more details were provided previously). The heating inside the igloo was quite strong, but it was still chilly at night due to the strong winds and temperatures below freezing. Our server, Anthony, did a fantastic job navigating the challenging conditions, constantly moving between the restaurant and our deck in heavy wind. As for the food, it ranged from good to very good depending on the dish. The appetizers were excellent, and everything was served hot, which is quite impressive. We tried several specials, including a fillet wrapped in crab meat served with shrimp risotto. The kitchen was very accommodating with our requests. While the prices were somewhat on the higher side, the menu selection, food quality, and the kitchen's flexibility justified the cost.

The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere with stunning views of the canal. The staff provided us with parasols for our outdoor table, which was a nice touch. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive to our needs during our entire visit. The food was delicious, and I didn't hear any complaints from my companion. However, I was a bit taken aback by the additional 3.5% fee for card payments, so be aware of that extra cost if you only have one card with you. As a special gesture, they even treated us to a small dessert to celebrate my grandmother's birthday.

This is a fantastic spot to visit during the summer. It's located right by the water, offering stunning views! The food was absolutely delicious; we tried the Prince Edward Island Mussels, Jumbo Crab Cakes, and Frutti Di Mare, and they were all excellent. The restaurant was quite busy when I left, and it seemed like they were a bit understaffed, which affected the speed of service, but the staff was very friendly.

Great food and excellent service. The ambience on the water is peaseful and unexpected. I would highly recommend!

The igloos here are the highlight. I get they were busy, the service was a little slow but they made up for it with the amazing food and the wonderful comfie igloo seats. I got the coconut drink, and would absolutely get it again, it’s taste better than a pina colada
