Well worth taking a detour (Puntalazzo is up amount Etna, well off the beaten path). You also get a beautiful view for the same price. If you’re visiting in early July you will be fortunate enough to eat Granita Di GELSI BIANCHI (White mulberries): a rarity that last for no longer than 20 days and cannot be found elsewhere.

They have a great selection of flavours and they tasted so good that I had to have two of them! The first was white mulberries and toasted almond granita topped with cream and of course a brioche! The second was hazelnut and pistachio granita. Both yummy! Very friendly service too. We'll be back :

The pa... read more I just returned from Pasticceria Cardillo in Puntalazzo, a small village on the slopes of Mount Etna, and I have to say it was an incredible experience! The pastry shop is famous for its almond paste delights, and I can confirm that they are truly exceptional! *My experience*
