Southland Books and Cafe - Maryville

If you're looking for a cool local spot, this is both as cool and local as it gets. There is something for everyone there. I've been a longtime customer going back to the original location in the 1990's. It has evolved from a book/used cd store to agrowing hub of variety and options for our neighborhood. Great food and drink in the cafe to enjoy while sitting down with agood book or meeting up with a friend. I personally enjoy thumbing through the vinyl records and chatting with the friendlystaff. Highly recommended.

Wonderful, cozy, comfy, calming bookstore. Large selection, something for everyone. Friendly staff, but they also leave you alone to browse. There are chairs amongst the book aisles that you could sit in read. There?s a cafe with a little diningarea, also worth a visit. I had the Oppenheimer sandwich, it was fresh delicious!

UPDATE: some prices are better and they have Destroyer books. Can?t be all bad. OLD REVIEW 3 years ago: Lots of books but I feel prices are a little too high.

Delicious food, decadent desserts, and an impressive assortment of coffee, tea and lemonade will brighten your day and fill your tummy! Their vegan menu is the best I have seen andthey are affordable!! Also, the book store has an awesome selection and the nicest staff!!

This is a local gem consisting of a diverse and eclectic selection of used books, with a cute little cafe attached. The food and drinks are appropriately book themed, and offers vegan options as well. The organized-by-category shelving system isoverwhelming as every good small town used book store should be because who has time to alphabetize? It?s like stepping back intime with the ringing bell as you enter and the click clack of the worn, wooden floor. I?ll come back. Yea I will.
