I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The drinks were fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. Our waitress, Lissa, was extraordinary—she was incredibly sweet and polite. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! View all feedback.
What Caleb Belew doesn't like about Mc Kinley's Grille:
Flavorless, unsalted, under AND overcooked. Less than clean looking mid 2000's Tuscan decor. Coffee was watery and weak. Waited 40minutes for two sunny side eggs, gravy and chipped beef (less than a 1/4cup of beef for a cup of sad gravy) over the smallest wheat toast I have seen outside of a hospital ward, hashbrowns (dry and crispy enough to draw the attention of the table behind us), a single pancake crispy on its... I stopped by this diner for a Sunday breakfast while traveling through the area. It’s what I expected from a small-town eatery, with a solid selection of breakfast and lunch options. The Celebrity omelette was tasty, though it contained very little meat. The ham and cheese omelette, on the other hand, had a lot of cheese but was quite lacking in ham. It’s not the diner’s fault, but the water in Marysville is apparently poor quality; after tasting the ice water, I hesitated to order coffee. Be cautious when picking a booth, as some of the benches were in rough shape. Angel, our server, was extremely friendly and provided excellent service! One highlight was that they must preheat their plates, keeping our omelettes warm throughout our meal.
I ordered a cup of coffee that turned out to be typical, watered-down diner fare. I also chose the breakfast burrito, but when I saw a side labeled as "coffee cake" on the menu, I was surprised to receive pancakes instead! Not what I had expected at all! The syrup dispenser left a lot to be desired; it looked quite dirty and could certainly use a thorough cleaning. The burrito itself was decent, but it was clear that Chef Mike (a.k.a. Microwave) had a hand in its preparation. If it hadn’t been zapped in the microwave, it could have been exceptional! You could really tell when something has been overcooked in a microwave. Unfortunately, that’s how the cheese on the sides of the burrito became burnt onto the plate, and the tortilla ended up rubbery. I would have much preferred the cheese being melted naturally by the heat of the burrito itself. On a positive note, the hash browns that weren’t microwaved were absolutely delicious. The prices were reasonable, and I can definitely see why people have a fondness for this place. However, I would suggest cooking without the microwave for better results. I did have to wait quite a while before I could take my first bite without burning my mouth. The staff was very polite and attentive, though, which I appreciated. Overall, I would consider returning to try some different dishes with my family. I enjoy writing reviews for fun!
This is a fantastic little restaurant. We finally got to enjoy the meatloaf we had been craving, and it was outstanding!
Delicious home cooked food, the Salisbury steak and meatloaf are the best
