What User doesn't like about Hot Iron Mongolian Grill:
We will not be back! While the food is not terrible, it's not worth it. Before COVID, this restaurant was much better! Now everything is ordered from a list, with upcharges for almost everything. Some ingredients were omitted, and the portion sizes were decent, but uneven. Our server was friendly. However, the owner seemed pushy and borderline rude. It's a shame that the restaurant has changed so much. If it goes bac... View all feedback.
Me and my family came in for lunch on a Sunday, three people swarmed us, asking how old my kid is, and really made it clear that I had to pay for my three-year-old kid even after I said, “yes that’s fine”. Then when we paid for the all you can eat lunch. The lady came up and said please take small portions. (What’s the point of paying for all you can eat when they’re counting how much you put in your bowl) When I was filling up my plate, it seemed like they were watching how much I’m taking. It felt like a very greedy and stingy vibe very uncomfortable. When my food was getting cooked, the two cooks look like it’s their first time prepping the meal. One of the cooks even asked his coworkers “Does this look ready”. The food was OK. My noodles were undercooked but thankfully the chicken and beef was cooked through. The manager of the place was micromanaging everything around the restaurant. (my guess she’s the manager. That’s what it looked like) It was very uncomfortable, seeing her raise her voice on the employees for forgetting to ask if my wife wanted rice. One of the employees was spraying Windex over the meat to clean the glass that protects the food. The employee was cleaning the glass and moments later the manager came up, grabbed the employees hand and very rudely was showing the employee how to wipe the glass. overall, it was a very weird Mongolian grill experience. Nothing like I have ever been at before very abnormal Mongolian Grill. I recommend getting a chef that knows what he’s doing to train the young guys. And the manager to build a team that she can trust and not micromanage everything in front of the customers. It makes a very tense culture inside the restaurant for the employees and for the customers. Gordon Ramsay needs to come into this kitchen and set everyone straight. lol
This the second year in a row my friends have come together to meet here for birthday dinner. The owner is always really sweet and she took a picture for us. Great food.
The food is clean. This is a mongolian grill where you pay by the pound. There is a good variety and the food is well cooked. The restaurant is in the upper quartile for its class. The female owner is the moderately agreeable/anxious type. This is usually a good combination for good food service but the service can be bad when it's not. I suspect this is the place where service gets better as you get to know the owners as it is a family run business. I do not intend to test that.
This restaurant is definitely my favorite! I dine here at least 2 to 3 times a month, if not more. The food is exceptional, with a variety of delicious vegetables, noodles, meats, and specialty choices like pancakes and marinated chicken. The restaurant is very clean and well organized. The staff, including Elisabeth (the helpful owner), Bella (the sweet hostess), and Peter (the master chef), are incredibly friendly and always remember me by name. I highly recommend giving it a try, and would rate it 6 stars or more if I could. The restaurant has parking for 60 spots and is kid-friendly with high chairs available. Elisabeth especially loves kids.
This restaurant has the best atmosphere to be in! I really love coming here, not only for the food but also for the people. They are all so friendly and welcoming!
