I had an amazing experience at the VIP Lounge in Hollywood. The bartender, Sonsaray, was fantastic. She's attentive and engaging, providing the best service we've had. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hollywood Casino St. Louis:
We stayed at Sunrise Tower, and our room had an awful smell that made me feel nauseous. The room was dirty, and our beds and towels were not changed during our stay. View all feedback.
This place is awesome if you are planning on attending a show the amphitheater. We stayed just 1 night, check in was fast and simple about 3 hours before the show started. We ate dinner before heading over to the show in one of the many restaurants available. Then, we hopped on the shuttle bus and they dropped us right off at the front gate and picked us up after the show in the same spot. Less than 5 minute travel time and made it so worth it. The rooms were nice, but could be a little cleaner. No doubt, would stay here again. Best experience with the shuttles they make going to a show and staying overnight absolutely worth the trip.
Stopped in for a drink after a show at the music venue. The bar closed at 11 (lol wut? so we went and had a round on the casino floor. Took forever to get drinks. Place smelled like stale cigarette smoke and crushed dreams. Very sad atmosphere.
Very huge and intimidating place. Very few people were there when I visited considering the large empty parking lots. They had video poker machines that I like but they are programmed to play like most other casinos I've been to around the country..
I was very impressed with this casino. I grew up in Vegas so my standard for a casino is very high and I have to say Hollywood did not disappoint. The only part I would like to see some improvement on was the restraunts or food offerings in general. The Chinese food place on the property looked great from the outside bit the meat that they served in multiple dishes was absolutely sub-par and in my opinion not fit for human consumption. My only other problem with the casino was more of a state thing than the actual casino so I can't hold it against them but they are not allowed to comp your drinks no matter how much you play which is a hard thing to get used to if you have been comped in the past. Other than that it was a great little place to escape your own reality for a night or two.Noteworthy details: They cannot comp drinks to players. The Chinese food restraint is trash. The players club card has AMAZING promotions.
The service definitely needs work. Apparently you can't get a late checkout unless you wake up at 6:00 a.m. and talk to the manager on day shift. If you're trying to get a late check out, you're probably not planning on being up at 6:00 a.m. so if you need late check out make sure to let them know days in advance.Rooms: The rooms are pretty nice inside but the views are terrible. I've stayed in three different rooms and all have terrible views.
