Gail Sauers Bakery Cafe - Maryborough

We both enjoyed our chunky beef and potato & pea pies....they were nice but nothing special. However, the chocolate eclair and caramel crunch slice were lovely....and many others in the cabinet looked great too. The service was efficient and the eat in area very clean and tidy.

We are Grey Nomads who travel around Australia for 8 months per year. We have not found a better pie in Australia. It is a big call but true. My wife says they make the best salad sandwiches but I can not go past their pies. They also make great cakes and pasteries. The coffee here is also very very good. This place is mianly known by locals who come back time after time. Do yourself a favour and buy your next takeaway here.

A tradition through generations. Genuine Aussie pies full of meaning and flavour. We have been here several times and have not been disappointed by the price and quality.

I always stop to stock up on pies, cakes and pastries before I return to my home in Brisbane. It reminds me of my childhood to eat the pies, sausage rolls and donuts. They may be old-fashioned recipes but they are still just as delicious!
