Tucked away in the back of Marseille, what an unforgettable find! Welcoming staff and atmosphere and fantastic unique flavours. Waitress charming and helpful and even gave us tips on where to visit during our stay. Definitely one for another visit before we return home.
Six months ago, José Potier had creatd a sophisticated space, in a dúplex loft, decked out in naturals and neutrals, a retail gourmet boutique, on the ground floor displaying his innovative French regional products in a jewel box ambiance, along with twists on modern classics such as foie gras and smoked fish with caviar. Just east of Port Vieux, along the coast, a mere 15 minute bus ride, Bus Number 83, is amost charming yet vanguard venue called RHIZOME LES RACINES DU GOÛT. The upstairs, reachable by a most amazing spiral staircase, with catedral ceilings and floor to ceiling Windows, can remind one of Tribeca, Manhattan and or Monmartre Paris. A contemporary photograph and art gallery atomosphere with well spaced seating is sure to please. The carte is seasonal and top shelf ... Foie gras Mi cout Crevettes Royal . giant red prawns Gravlax Fresh oysters on half Shell Salads based on seasonal availability Truffle risotto Truffle pasta Seasonal wild mushrooms Caviar Regional Omelettes Canapés Mussels Fresh Clams To rattle off the top of my head. THE WINE CELLAR IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE CITY CONTAINING WINES FROM 7 Euros up to 300 Euros. The Champagne selection is amazing.
