A hospitable and welcoming hostess who assured us there were no rules and we could mix and match the menu as we liked! There was a choice of five tapas dishes we shared a couple as starters. The first time we had eaten panisses (which were delicious and a St Marcellin tart. To follow, my partner had a fish dish which he really enjoyed and I had pork braised in cider which was fab. There was also a vegan and a vegetarian option. The atmosphere was relaxed and the prices are reasonable. We ate indoors but there is a lovely outdoor area in a pretty little square for outdoor dining. Would definitely recommend and will certainly visit again next time we’re in Marseilles. Thanks for a great evening.

Fresh, friendly and delicious. The food is unique, with a mixture of local, seasonal quality produce, cooked in a modern way. The drinks selection is superb and the venue is bright and welcoming. The staff are lovely and accommodating. We loved this place, especially great for young families or couples. It’s also out of the way of the port, in a relaxed courtyard so there’s no hustle.

Shaded by trees, calm, just 100m away from the 'vieux port de Marseille '. I love these kind of restaurants: friendly, no pretense, excellent south of France cuisine

There were five of us in Marseille to watch a World Cup Rugby match and we speak very little French. We chose Placette because of its great reviews and we were not disappointed. It was a warm evening and we sat outside. The staff we vey welcoming and helped us make a choice of 3 tapas to share as starters these were delicious and there was plenty to go around. For mains we had lamb cutlets or seabass both were fantastic. There were vegetarian and vegan options. There was craft beer and a good wine list available. We went home very happy.
