This small restaurant in Le Panier is well worth the visit. Each of the small plates were excellent in their own right. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience with attentive and pleasant staff. Thanks to all the team View all feedback.
What Janev Australia doesn't like about Cote Rue:
We visited this restaurant on a warm August evening. We were seated promptly.and given menus. The menus consists of tapas style small plates. We chose 4. Three plates were delivered all at once and the third, inexplicably, some time later. Two were excellent.. the cold tomato soup and the late arriving sardines. The duck gravelax was just odd and the veal tonnato didnt really work..with its rapidly melting icecream.... View all feedback.
We just returned from dinner at the Cote Rue. I rarely write a review but was motivated to give the place a three out of five for two reasons. First, the food we ate was decent. We had the fried chicken, fish ceviche and the bouillabaisse. But, don’t expect even the relatively small menu to actually be available. The tuna ceviche wasn’t available, so they substituted another fish. The croque monsieur wasn’t available because… they couldn’t get decent bread… in France! The bouillabaisse was good but very strong and full of bones. The other two dishes were delicious. But if you offer ten things on your menu and start cutting from those options, then the customer better be flexible. Second, Americans make jokes about the service in France. Normally, they are completely wrong. Today’s French youth are generally fluent in English and often charming. But tonight’s service would have confirmed their prejudices. Even my French wife found it heavy going with the person serving us. We usually establish a rapport with the person. But this person, who imagines she’s far more adept in English than she is, seemed to roll her eyes and be far too frustrated by my questions for my liking. When we asked for a specific table in what is essentially an alleyway, we were told that it was reserved for a friend. Instead we were crammed between two other tables. We left two hours later, and it was still empty. So, overall, the place serves decent food and is well located. But compared to our first night at the superb Cafe Bovo, we wouldn’t rush back.
Excellent find! We stumbled across this little gem and had an amazing feast! We ordered 7 different dishes, had 3 different wines and all was delicious, served with a smile and in a beautifully quirky location!

With a beer and a rose wine the bill was E62. Expensive really. We left slightly disappointed.
An adventure in tastes and senses other words creative cooking small plates of wonderful taste adventures oh please where has olive oil cream been in my life
